These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Long To Short ("Long To Short", "we", "us", "our", or "the Service"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. What Long To Short does

Long To Short is a browser-based tool that helps you turn long videos into short highlight clips.

• Videos are processed locally in your browser; we do not upload or store your video files on our servers.
• The Service may offer tools to load multiple source videos, mark and preview clips, apply per-clip effects (such as speed, color, flip, mute, text overlays, and watermarks), save and load projects, and download clips from your device.
• On supported browsers, Long To Short can be installed as a Progressive Web App (PWA) for offline-capable use.

The specific features available may change over time as we improve the Service.

Some features or versions of Long To Short may be offered as paid products or licenses. Additional or different terms may apply to those features or versions and will be presented to you at the time of purchase.

2. Your responsibility

You are responsible for:

• Ensuring you have all necessary rights and permissions to any video or other content you load into the Service.
• Complying with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations when using the Service, including copyright and other intellectual property laws.
• Keeping backups of any important files, including project files (.lts.json); you should not rely on the Service as your only copy of any content.

Long To Short never modifies or deletes your original video files. It only reads them locally in your browser and lets you export new files that you choose where to save.

You are responsible for verifying that any exported clips work as you expect before relying on them (for example, before using them in a professional or time-sensitive context). We are not responsible for loss of data or any issues caused by relying solely on exported files.

3. Acceptable use

You agree that you will not:

• Use the Service in any way that violates applicable law.
• Use the Service to infringe or violate the intellectual property, privacy, or other rights of others.
• Attempt to interfere with or disrupt the Service, its infrastructure, or other users' ability to use it.
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to access the Service's source code except as permitted by law or applicable open-source licenses.

We reserve the right (but have no obligation) to restrict or terminate access to the Service by anyone who uses it in a way that we reasonably believe violates these Terms or harms the Service.

4. No warranties

The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, including without limitation any implied warranties of:

• Merchantability
• Fitness for a particular purpose
• Non-infringement
• Availability, reliability, or accuracy of the Service or outputs

We do not warrant that:

• The Service will be error-free or uninterrupted.
• Exports will always succeed, be compatible with your specific software or hardware, or match exact frame boundaries.
• The Service will meet your specific requirements or performance expectations.

5. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Long To Short and its owners, directors, employees, and agents will not be liable for:

• Any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages;
• Any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly;
• Any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses;

arising out of or in connection with your use of or inability to use the Service.

Where liability cannot be fully excluded, our total aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service will not exceed the amount you have paid us for using the Service in the twelve (12) months before the event giving rise to the claim (currently $0 for the free web version).

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions of warranties or limitations of liability. In those cases, the exclusions and limitations above apply only to the extent permitted by law.

6. Ownership and intellectual property

We or our licensors own all rights, title, and interest in and to the Service, including all software, designs, and content we provide (excluding your own videos and content). These are protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws.

These Terms do not grant you any ownership interest in the Service or its content. You are granted only a limited right to use the Service in accordance with these Terms.

You retain any rights you have in your own videos and other content that you load into or create with the Service.

7. Paid versions and third-party services

If we offer paid versions of Long To Short (for example, a Pro or desktop version under a license):

• Payment and licensing may be handled by third-party services (for example, a payment processor or store).
• Those services may have their own terms and privacy policies, which will apply to the payment process itself.

Any additional terms or conditions for paid versions will be presented to you at the time of purchase. In the event of a conflict between those terms and these Terms, the more specific terms for the paid product will usually control for that product.

8. Changes to the Service

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue all or part of the Service at any time, with or without notice. We are not liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the Service.

9. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.

If we make material changes, we may provide additional notice (for example, by highlighting the change in the app). If you continue using the Service after the updated Terms take effect, you agree to the revised Terms.

10. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arizona, USA, without regard to its conflict of law principles.

Any disputes arising out of or relating to the Service or these Terms will be resolved in the courts located in Arizona, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.

If you are using the Service in a jurisdiction that does not permit this choice of law or forum, these Terms do not limit any protections you are entitled to under the laws of that jurisdiction.

11. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, that provision will be enforced to the maximum extent permissible, and the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
